NEW MOVIES!  APRIL 25 - MAY 1, 2017

^LA LA LAND (USA, PG-13) - This won a bunch of awards so people are already excited about it. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone star in the musical romance film that people either loved, hated, or didn't understand what all the fuss was about. However you think you might feel about it, you should probably watch it and form your own opinion.
DIRECTED BY: Damien Chazelle
STARRING: Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, John Legend, Rosemarie DeWitt
METASCORE: 93, based on 53 Critics
UNDERWORLD: BLOOD WARS (USA, R) - Another one? This fourth sequel is about that same old eternal blood war between vampires and lycans which will continue forever since they are immortal. What a way to spend your days. Just kiss and make up already!

METASCORE: 23, based on 17 Critics
THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS (UK, R) - In the dystopian future, humanity has been effect by a virus that essentially turns people into zombies but they go by a different name to be clever. There is a girl who isn't affected and a small group of other hybrid children who remain regular humans. Maybe they can save the world?
DIRECTED BY: Colm McCarthy
STARRING: Gemma Arterton, Paddy Considine, Glenn Close, Sennia Nanua
METASCORE: 67, based on 20 Critics
*CATFIGHT (USA, Not Rated) - Veronica and Ashley have been frenemies since college. They both attend the same fancy event in which you're supposed to remain composed but they become unhinged and make literal the movie's title. It's a satire on humanity's warlike nature.
DIRECTED BY: Onur Tukel

METASCORE: 66, based on 17 Critics
MIFUNE: THE LAST SAMURAI (Japan, Not Rated) - This is a documentary about the life and works of Toshiro Mifune. He was an actor best known for his tempestuous performances in all of Akira Kurosawa's most famous films. And if you don't know who that is, there are interviews with Spielberg and Scorsese. Perhaps those names are more familiar to you?
DIRECTED BY: Steven Okazaki
NARRATED BY: Keanu Reeves
METASCORE: 64, based on 14 Critics
THE DAUGHTER (Australia, Not Rated) - A man returns home to a dying logging town for the wedding of his father. He has some long buried secret that is meant to stay buried. However, something tells me it does not.

WE ARE X (USA, R) - X Japan is a Japanese hair metal band. This is a documentary about how much of their profits they turn around and spend on hairspray. All kidding aside, it is a music documentary about one of the biggest bands in the world whose only fame in the west comes from anime fans.

BOKEH (USA, Not Rated) - A young American couple takes a romantic getaway to Iceland. Then everyone else on earth disappears. This leaves them alone with only each other as company. So did they get what they wanted?
