*MOANA (USA, PG) - A Polynesian god puts a curse on an island or its people or something like that. Then the chief’s daughter tries to fight back or reason with it? It's a Disney movie, so that should clear up any confusion.

THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT (Belgium, Not Rated) - This is a fantasy comedy that wants you to believe that God is alive and residing in Brussels with His teenage daughter. His kid decides He's doing a poor job of ruling the world and takes matters into her own hands. She's got the whole world in her hands.

THE EYES OF MY MOTHER (USA, R) - This horror movie is about this girl whose mother taught her to be desensitized. So when tragedy strikes and should have traumatized her, it awakes in her some kind of lust for darkness. She wants to feel as other people do but just can't quite do it because she was raised wonky.

I AM MICHAEL (USA, Not Rated) - This movie is based on a real life Michael. Michael Glatze was a gay rights activist who turned into a straight Christian pastor. If anyone is going to play that role on point and uncomfortably, it's James Franco - luckily the director thought so, too.

WE ARE THE FLESH (Mexico, Not Rated) - Two siblings have been wandering around a city for years trying to find food and a roof. The city is wrecked and so are their lives. When they stumble upon a decent shelter they are willing to do just about anything to keep it, including whatever dangerous proposal the other survivor offers.
